What thepentalab.com collects

The website has no account and no form. It collects very little. Here is each item, why, on what legal basis, and for how long.

Emails you send us

If you write to contact@thepentalab.com, we receive your email address, your name if it is in the message, and what you write. There is no form on the website: you write from your own mail program.

To answer you.
Legal basis.
Legitimate interest, which is answering the person who wrote to us. If your message is about a contract, the contract. If it becomes part of a contract or an accounting record, the legal obligation to keep it.
How long.
We keep a message for as long as the conversation is useful, and delete it 12 months after the last reply, unless it becomes part of a contract or an accounting record, which the law makes us keep longer.
Who else sees it.
Emails reach PentaLab’s Google Workspace mailbox. Google may process mail outside the EU under Google’s EU transfer terms.

Server logs

Each time a page is loaded, the web server (nginx) notes your IP address, the time, the address of the page you asked for, the page you came from, and your browser’s user agent. The website’s own application also keeps a log of start-up messages and errors. The website’s code writes no visitor data to it.

How long.
The web server log is rotated daily and kept for 14 days, and so is its error log. The application log is limited in size and overwritten as it fills.
Who else sees it.
The website runs on a server of OVH SAS, France, which hosts it for us.

Cookies

No cookies. thepentalab.com sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It has no analytics and no advertising.

How long.
Nothing is stored, so nothing is kept.

Requests to other companies

None when a page loads. The fonts, images, scripts and styles all come from our own server, so nothing about your visit goes to Google or anyone else. The links to LinkedIn, GitHub and our products only take you there if you click them. Their own policies then apply.

How long.
Not applicable, since nothing is sent.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, for its correction, for its erasure, for restriction of its use, and for a copy in a form you can move elsewhere (portability). You can also object to our use of it.

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or to the authority of your own country.
